Curated by GIRLS 1 year Party
Last Thursday was Curated by Girls 1 year anniversary party, at St.Georg in Kreuzberg. 1 year, i know it's not much, but still it feels like it's been a long journey so far. In a good way of course! A lot has happened since the first CBG IRL show "new femininity". I've met so many people, great people, discovered so many fabulous art and artists, i've had amazing opportunities...This is a very inspiring experience and i am super thankful.
First off I want to thank all of you who supported me since the beginning. You are the reason why I kept going, when sometimes I was almost about to quit. Without you, my work as a curator doesn't mean anything. So thank you so much for supporting me and for showing up at my events. I am trying to make it a better experience for you each time.
Last Thursday was really special to me. A lot of you told me that you loved the friendly atmosphere and the great mix of people that were attending the party. Well, that is exactly what I aim to do with Curated by Girls. Bring softness and get very different people together. Because we can be all together. We are not so different.
Of course I was not alone working on this party.
Firstly, let me thank all the fabulous artists that took part: Alice Skinner, Blaise Cepis, Coco Huang, Emily Stein, Eylül Aslan, Fleur and Detail, Frances Weger, Giulia Boggio, Jacqueline Secor, Jillian Evelyn, John Yuyi, Laura Breiling, Matilde Pernille, Nessikytian, Ophelie Rondeau, Pixy Liao, Sara Herrlander, Sivan Karim, Tanya Teibtner, Tara Booth, Trophy Wife Barbie, Venus Libido.
I really want to thank Annique Delphine. The party wouldn't have been the same without your amazing Boobicana installation. What a great job girl! People enjoyed it so much.
I also had the chance to have a wonderful crew with me, whose help was precious:
Apolline Guédon, Danaï Lookas, Elodie Rossi, Sara Herrlander, Shahar Lev and Travis Hair.
St.Georg was the best venue to do it. Bülent and his staff were perfect. I had their trust and they let me transform the club as i wanted to.
Of course, i wanna thank all the sponsors for making the party more entertaining:
Lomography Deutschland, Femna, Propercorn, Feminista, and Badass Prints.
Thank you again to all of you who showed up and contributed to make this party an amazing moment. I don't even know how I manage to create all of this. To be honest, one year ago, i had no idea how to put up an exhibition.
Someone came up to me asking how we did this and I never had really thought about it. I guess it's because we love people and we think about them when we organize an event. We want them to be pleased and to feel good. We think about all the little details that are important. Like the music...
Music is a big part of my life, as you probably know. That's why it is always part of my events. Music has become a vulgar product unfortunately but we can't live without it. I was really happy to have these amazing Dj's on board, with their special vibe and style: the talented Coco Maria, my popstarfriend Monchichi and the lovely White Lie. Thank you so much!
I have to mention my performance with Free Free Dom Dom. I am a bit crazy honestly! Like I didn't have enough to do, to actually plan to perform at my own event. Oh crazy me! It was our first FFDD live performance. And it was fun of course. I don't regret it. I hope you liked it. And i am glad we could collaborate with Julia Parchimowicz and her rad VJ performance.
I will end up saying that even if organizing this anniversary was a tremendous amount of work, I enjoyed all of it. I enjoyed watching you guys make it a great party!
You were the party!
One important thing is I don't take anything for granted. That way i am always alert and giving my full attention to details. And also, i am less disappointed if things go berserk. Because anyway, all of this is just a game, nothing more. Why should i take myself so seriously ?
Thank You all and see you soon.
