Mollie Dendle
Mollie Dendle is a self taught film photographer based in London. She didn’t have the chance to study art as she wished but ended up in Psychology class instead. This didn’t discourage her at all, as she just couldn’t stop fiddling around with a Canon AE-1 in between lectures.
"Although my degree at the time seemed like a huge hindrance to my creativity, I have used my knowledge from that degree to understand the implications that the fashion industry can have upon young girls. My photos tend to explore stark insecurities of young girls and therefore I have vowed to never use photoshop." she explains. "By using a medium that isn't instant, I aim to restore amongst other current creatives the renowned saying 'the camera never lies'. Each set of photos portray my muse as they wish to be portrayed, ensuring their sense of personality is not lost amongst studio lighting, makeup artists and unnecessary direction."
