“Ode To Kusama” by Gabriella Achadinha

Inspired by Yayoi Kusama, A play between the dark of the subconscious and the light of the spontaneous and seemingly meaningless, these photographs interplay the relationship between object and feminine. Eggs, Watermelons, Flowers. Motifs used in Kusama, O’Keefe, Heysen, Kahlo’s works, circular mundane items trans-formed into the mystical, the engaging, traditionally embedded with symbolism of the pigeonholed viewed feminine: ‘fragility’, ‘fertility’, ‘fruitious ‘. A Confrontation, An Embracing.
