Amanda Bjorn is an artist currently based in Ibiza, Spain who works in images, music, films, and movement, seeking to build relationships with the fragile world around us. She explores feelings of nostalgia, vulnerability, and self-healing with her photographs often using women’s bodies as her main subject.
Faye at Sea is a collaborative series with model and musician Faye Wellman, shot at the infamous El Matador beach in Malibu, California on Bjorn’s rolleiflex camera, which belonged to her grandfather. Inspired by classic Hollywood films shot at the location, the two set out to capture a different type of film heroine, a woman who rescues herself.
