On Italy’s Romagna coast, Gio Blonde redefines the sacred through raw film photography and radical self-performance. A psychologist turned performer, she embraces nudity, trauma, and ritual as tools of truth. Her series Protect Me channels her anarchist Madonna—born from memories of her mystic grandmother L.—to reclaim spirituality from obedience and shame. Through Wildromagna and Blindsessions, Gio stages intimate acts of transformation, where the body becomes both prayer and provocation. Her work is not about being seen, but about seeing—what’s wild, divine, and defiantly free.
