Chinese Artist, Luo Yang, reflects on China’s shifting mindset regarding concepts of femininity and identity. Named one of the 100 most influential women by BBC, Luo’s highly-staged portraits, carefully constructed poses and raw aesthetic defines her work. 
In 2018, Moonduckling presented a multi-city 10-year retrospective exhibition of Luo’s ongoing project, GIRLS, showcasing real Chinese women intimately. In her latest photo series NEW GENERATION, Luo explores a broader perspective on gender and intimacy whilst shedding light on China’s alternative, changing and emerging new generations.
