Hannah Kate Kelley is an artist and writer living in a tiny, windowless basement in Portland, Oregon. She politicizes her art with humor, obsession and playfulness, currently exploring elements of surprise in interactivity.
“What happens when you lift up a skirt? Swing open a door? Peek under a boob? These questions propel me to me to be prolific in my art-making, while I navigate the hazy direction of my post-grad life. I draw inspiration from children’s pop-up books, advent calendars and etiquette manuals. My only fear is that I won’t live long enough to make all the art I’ve thought up in my head.“
