Maria Theocharopoulou
Based in Athens, Maria Theocharopoulou is a visual and performance artist exploring instinctive movement, the body and the emotional landscapes it carries.
In Hyperlinks, the skin becomes a canvas for memory. Drawing from a four-year archive of found texts, film stills, discarded images and personal fragments, Theocharopoulou transforms these elements into temporary tattoos, placing them onto the bodies of women close to her.
Fragments of images, handwriting and stories come together across the skin, creating intimate visual connections between different bodies and experiences. Each body becomes a āhyperlinkā, connecting the personal to the collective through intimacy, femininity and memory.
