THE WITCHES ARE BACK, AND THEY’RE NOT ASKING FOR PERMISSION
For centuries, the word witch was used to silence, control and punish women who refused to conform. Today, the witch has become a symbol of self-determination, feminist rebellion and collective power.
In the self-portraits series lahex, Alina GROSS transforms the body into something raw and otherworldly. Wrapped in delicate branches and illuminated in deep blue and violet, the figure exists somewhere between vulnerability, ritual and transformation.
The witch is no longer the woman to be feared.
She is the woman who refuses to be controlled.
The fire didn’t destroy the magic. It made it stronger. 🔥
