There’s something about Amy Game’s work that immediately pulls you in.
Her paintings are about bodies, desire, womanhood and all the weird, complicated things that come with being inside a body. But they never feel like straightforward representations of any of those things. They feel more like fragments of a thought, a memory, a fantasy.
Based in Perth, Australia, Amy works across oil painting and ceramics. Her practice comes from her own experience, using the body as a way to explore vulnerability, attachment, identity and the female experience.
What we love is that her paintings don’t really ask you to look at the female body in the way we’re used to seeing it. Amy explores female desire in a patriarchal world without softening the edges. Her work puts the female body, sexuality and pleasure firmly back in her own hands.
Amy’s work feels intimate without being delicate. It’s sensual, but never just sexy. Beautiful, but sometimes uncomfortable.
And honestly, we like it that way.
Bodies, desire, a little provocation and absolutely no rules.
Meet Amy Game. ♡
