Marta Oktaba is a Melbourne based visual artist working under the pseudonym Almost Iris. Mainly working with solid black lines, Marta produces simplified and refined graphic imagery which she shares as a form of communication. Quite often her work depicts everyday life or fragments from dreams, allowing her to produce a symbolic language full of feelings. A common theme found in Marta’s work is keeping to traditional methods of producting work by hand. This way she tries to break through the expectiations of perfectionism and finds life in wavering imperfections that can only be created by hand.
