Giada Maestra is an Italian illustrator based in London. She graduated in Fashion Design and Multimedia Arts at IUAV University of Venice, and now works as a freelancer illustrator and artist. Her illustrations mainly involve scenes of everyday life. Body positivity and sexual health are some of the topics she cares the most when she represents women.
PERIODS is an ongoing series of drawings about women dealing with their menstruation.
One day I was in my bathtub looking at the water slowly turning into red colour because I had my period. I started thinking about common situations happening during these days, so I decided to throw it down on paper, like a sort of diary. I hope other women can look at these illustrations and smile.
