Chiara Pastoor is a polymath, seamlessly blending filmmaking, photography, writing, and music. Her work explores surrealism, erotica, and comedy, creating a sanctuary free from judgment. Since her debut short film, ‘Directed by,’ in May 2022, Pastoor has embarked on a journey of self-discovery, completing two new short films and an ongoing photography series titled ‘KOORTSDROOM‘ (‘fever dream’ in English).
This series, featuring self-portraits and portraits of others, delves into the subconscious, inviting viewers to confront insecurities and hidden desires. Through visual narratives reminiscent of dreams, ‘KOORTSDROOM’ presents enigmatic stories challenging us to navigate the line between escapism and reality.
As we immerse ourselves in Pastoor’s creations, we confront a poignant question: Are we merely escaping reality by falling asleep, or are we truly existing within an inescapable dream?
