Alex Westfall is a photographer based in Manila, The Philippines. Her work is merging reality and illusion, the intimacy of daily life, and the dynamic between people and the universes they’ve created.
“I am drawn to silver light, motion blur, intimate spaces, the artificial, imagined memories, and the relationship between female bodies and the natural landscape. I have learned to let go of the result and fall in love with the process of observation. I listen to my gut and to the quiet, the stillness just before something is about to happen. As a result, I think my photos are about the merging of truth and imagination. They are about the everyday moments that carry a dream-like quality; moments that cause me to re-evaluate and question myself. “
