London-based photographer & filmmaker Jasmine De Silva creates work constructed of a hand-made world, combining retrofuturism, hyperreal aesthetics, pop-art style colours and diamond studded female bodies. Holding up a mirror to our own dehumanising obsession with appearances, how we view ourselves and treat ourselves, in a pursuit to be some made up idealised version of ‘perfect’, Jasmine aims to playfully expose society’s unrealistic standards of beauty. Her latest mini-series ‘Fine Dining’ explores the link between the body and food.

We love food, it nourishes us and it’s a luxury we can enjoy. We also have such a complicated relationship with it because of how it alters and affects our body. In this mini portrait series Natasha Lawes, our amazing Makeup Artist created a beautiful makeup look that takes inspiration from the cakes in front of Prishita. The cakes are boob shaped, playing on the idea of body parts to outline that many women still have a love-hate relationship with their bodies.
