ModaLisboa For Good: A Celebration of Fashion with Purpose

This March, Lisbon became the epicenter of style and sustainability with the 62nd edition of ModaLisboa, themed “For Good.” Co-organized with Lisbon’s City Council and held at Pátio da Galé from March 7 to March 10, 2024, the event showcased a vibrant program that merged cutting-edge fashion with a commitment to positive social and environmental impact. And luckily for us we were there !

Innovative Platforms and Collaborative Collections

ModaLisboa For Good’s fashion presentation calendar featured a dynamic blend of exploratory projects from the Workstation platform, the innovative approach of the LAB platform, and fresh proposals from established designers. Highlights included the Portuguese Soul editorial project by APICCAPS and the debut of collaborative capsule collections from Lion of Porches x paatiff and DECENIO x MOLNM by Matilde Mariano. A standout moment was the secretive “It’s the Fit, not the Brand” action, unveiled on the final day, March 10.

Supporting Ukrainian Designers

This edition also emphasized global solidarity with the Support Ukrainian Designers Initiative, a collaboration between Associação ModaLisboa and Ukrainian Fashion Week. With the war ongoing in Ukraine, this initiative provided a platform for Ukrainian designers Darja Donezz, Omelia, and Nadya Dzyak to present their collections in Lisbon, continuing their creative work under challenging circumstances.

Public Engagement and Community Spirit

To foster greater community involvement, Dino Alves’ fashion show was open to the public, supported by Betclic in collaboration with Liga Portugal Betclic. This event took place at Praça do Comércio on Friday, March 8, and celebrated the intersection of fashion design and the communal spirit of football, inviting enthusiasts from both fields to come together.

FAST TALKS and Ethical Growth

The event began with FAST TALKS, a platform for dialogue between national and international speakers discussing opportunities for ethical growth in the fashion industry. This stage emphasized the importance of sustainable practices and the future of fashion.

ModaLisboa For Good was more than a fashion event; it was a testament to the power of design to drive change and inspire community. By integrating sustainability, inclusivity, and creativity, ModaLisboa set a new standard for the fashion industry, proving that style and substance can go hand in hand.
