What happens when your voice gets lost in the noise?
Artist and designer Liana, aka GirlTrashDesign, explores the heaviness of carrying a story that nobody has heard.. and the loneliness, fear and doubt that can come with it.
In i is nothing, photographs, handwritten words, typewritten text, drawings and layers of texture come together in a series that feels messy, intimate and a little unsettling.
Words appear, disappear, overlap and repeat. Some are impossible to read, almost as if the voice behind them is struggling to make itself heard.
And maybe that’s what makes the series work. It doesn’t try to make everything clear. Instead, it gives us a glimpse into what it can feel like to speak when you’re afraid of not being believed, misunderstood or simply dismissed.
There’s something raw about these pieces that we really like , especially the tension between the delicate, almost beautiful imagery and the much heavier words underneath.
A reminder that even when your voice shakes, you should still use it. ♡
