Realism, but make it body-positive.
Based in Edinburgh, Scottish artist and graphic designer Katie Munro creates incredibly detailed drawings using graphite and coloured pencil, often focusing on the female body.
What we love about her work is the way she celebrates bodies exactly as they are; curves, folds, stretch marks, softness and all. Rather than trying to smooth out or idealise the female form, Katie puts these details right at the centre of her work, creating beautiful representations of women in bigger bodies.
There’s something both incredibly delicate and quietly powerful about her drawings. The level of detail makes you want to look closer, while the simple compositions let the bodies speak for themselves.
Because women’s bodies don’t need fixing. They just need more space. ♡
