When we received ANIQO’s new single TIME TO HEAL, we were immediately drawn to it. And then we realised the video was filmed in Sintra, Portugal; a place we called home for five years and one that will always have a special place in the CBG story. Seeing those familiar forests, water and dreamy landscapes again was a pretty lovely surprise.
Berlin and Lisbon-based singer-songwriter and visual artist ANIQO blends art-pop, spiritual folk and intimate songwriting into something dreamy and quietly hypnotic. There’s a softness to her music, but also a sense of movement, like leaving something behind and slowly making space for whatever comes next.
Taken from her upcoming album EARTH, LOVE AND VARIATIONS, out November 6 via La Double Vie, TIME TO HEAL feels like exactly what its title promises: a moment to pause, breathe and come back to yourself.
The accompanying video, filmed in Sintra with friends and collaborators, has that dreamy, almost fairytale quality the place seems to naturally create — white dresses, forests, water and a little mystery. Basically, Sintra doing what Sintra does best.
And maybe that’s why this one stayed with us. We all need a little time to heal sometimes.
